Can you help me out really quickly?
This special edition of This Week In Writing will help Justin solve a problem (hopefully) and request your feedback.
The Writing Cooperative regularly sends three newsletters using three different email service providers. This Week In Writing sends through Revue (owned by Twitter), Write Together sends through Medium, and our writer updates through Flodesk. No service provides a perfect email solution, so I’ve cobbled all three together to accomplish my needs. Today I’ve run into a pretty big issue and need your help.
While I’m not a big stats guy, I did notice when the weekly email open rate went from an average of 40% to 4% — something changed. I contacted Revue and was told they were inundated with spam bots, which caused deliverability issues among various email options. I’m temporarily sending this email out among all the newsletters so that it hopefully reaches you.
If you want to ensure to receive future communication from The Writing Cooperative, please add the following email addresses to your contacts or allowed senders lists:
I don’t know if this will solve the current deliverability issues Revue is experiencing or simply help for now. At least, it may provide temporary relief.
Ok, enough about me, now I have a question for you.
The Writing Cooperative has two current communities: Facebook and Twitter. Both are fine and may be all we need. However, I’ve been contemplating bringing back a dedicated Writing Cooperative community on Discord.
If you’re interested in a Discord community, reply and let me know what you’d want to see involved. I’m curious about what feedback I get and will move accordingly. Granted, if you don’t get this email, that poses a bit of a feedback challenge, doesn’t it? I hope to hear from you!
Thank you for reading this far. Assuming everything works as intended, you should get the next issue of This Week In Writing on Tuesday. Until then, have a great weekend and keep writing.
